We own and operate Australia’s most advanced solar panel recycling facility

Our world-leading solar panel recycling facility. We just launched a world-class solar panel recycling facility – the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere – right here in Parkes, NSW. Here, we recover valuable commodities to be redirected back into the circular economy.

The solar panel ‘tsunami’

There are more than 1.3 million tonnes of solar panels in Australia. Our abundance of sunshine and strong government rebate schemes has led to high adoption rates. However, we are fast approaching a transition point as first-generation solar (20+ years) begins to reach the end of its useful life.

Currently only 15% of solar panels are recycled in Australia and worldwide

Typically, the aluminium frame and junction box are recovered. The remaining material ends up in landfill or is shipped overseas

The amount of e-waste created from solar PV and battery storage is forecast to increase 18-fold by 2030

Our new facility will achieve best-in-class recycling rates

An ethical solution to end-of-life solar

Until now, installers, solar manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers, and solar farms have been faced with a huge dilemma: what do we do with our old panels when they need an upgrade? With no viable solution on home soil, the vast majority (85%) of defunct solar panels have ended up in landfill in Australia.

As the only e-waste processing business with sites right across the East Coast of Australia, we can work with you to deliver a recycling solution consistent with your green credentials and environmental commitments.

Our world-leading solar panel processing plant has significant support from the NSW EPA is now operational in Parkes. Call us for a tour.

Process

We have the expertise and established processing capabilities to receive all types of solar panels.

At our processing facilities in Parkes, Yatala and Dandenong, we accept panels that are:

Whole panels are de-framed and delaminated using our state-of-the-art automatic processing line at Parkes. We recover valuable commodities such as aluminium, glass, copper and silver and redirect them as green metals, back into the circular economy.
